Having recently acquired a MacBook Pro, I've moved my genealogy data into a program called Reunion 9. I'm quite happy with this new database system, it's better than my previous one.
I'll be updating the data on the site in the next couple of weeks as I have gathered more in recent months and also removed some erroneous content as well.
I recently visited Woolton cemetery in Liverpool and found the grave of Isaac Asbridge. I'll edit this post and add pictures and transcription of the headstone for those who are interested as soon as I get the photo's off the camera.
OK, so the time has come to go looking for more info. I'm planning a trip around a couple of grave yards in the Liverpool area. I hope to validate some of the information I have and see if I can find any new info.
I'll keep you all posted on the details.
I recently took a drive to Caldbeck in search of evidence of the family. I found Asbridge family members still living there, Asbridge graves on the cemetery of St Kentigern's church and some interesting local history.
I found the following graves...
Thomas Asbridge (died Jun 7th 1896 age 62)
Jane Ashbridge (died Dec 25th 1875 age 41)
Mary Ashbridge (died Feb 13th 1928 age 86)
Mary Asbridge (died May 22nd 1840 age 72)
Thomas Asbridge (died Sep 25th 1845 age 75)
Initial work on the new web site is now complete. I plan to add a few more tweaks here and there but the main site is now ready for use. The users of the system should now sign up for their new accounts and start collaborating with the tools provided.
If you need help getting started please drop me a mail richard@vorax.org and I'll point you in the right direction. As always, your comments and suggestions are most welcome.
The Manhattan Project was the project to develop the first nuclear weapons during World War II by the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. Formally designated as the Manhattan Engineering District (MED), it refers specifically to the period of the project from 1942-1946 under the control of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, under the administration of General Leslie R. Groves, with its scientific research directed by the American physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer.
I have moved the website engine onto the Drupal framework. This will allow for the creation and use of forums news, articles, galleries and other tools.
Please bare with me while I complete the move of the information.
